Sarah Jane Coffey

Sarah Jane Coffey has graduated with a National Diploma in Hotel Catering Management and a Honours Degree in Business, Tourism and Hospitality Management. She also holds a Masters of Business award having received all of her academic qualifications from AIT. Sarah Jane also spent 9 years working in the hospitality industry, her experience was gained in The Twelve Hotel, Barna (2008), The Harbour Hotel Galway (2006 - 2008) and Breaffy House Hotel Mayo (2006), amongst others.

Sarah Jane captained the team representing AIT in the IHI business games 2009, placing 2nd out of 14 teams.

Sarah Jane presented a conference paper for the 2011 THRIC (Tourism & Hospitality research in Ireland) conference under the theme Festival and events, the title of the paper was ‘An economic impact assessment of the Volvo ocean race stopover to Galway’.

Sarah Jane Coffey completed a learning and teaching certificate in AIT.

Every March she tutors students for the National Hospitality Student Cocktail Challenge at the yearly CATEX exhibition in the RDS. Sarah Jane has also judged at these competitions.

She has brought bar supervision and restaurant management students on a field trip every year to relative hospitality establishments all over the country such as the Galway Hooker Brewery, White Gypsy Brewery, Guinness, Tullamore Dew Distillery, Smithwicks Brewery, the G Hotel, The Shelbourne and Kinnity Castle to name but a few.

I am currently and have been for the past 10 years a member of the Vintners Federation of Ireland
