Lecturer in Managerial Finance and Decision Making Techniques

I have been lecturing in AIT since September 1981

Qualifications are as follows:

BA (Hons) UCD 1979

MA (Hons) in Economics UCD 1980

Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance ACCA 1989

Graduate Diploma in Statistics TCD 1991

Graduate Certificate in Third Level Learning and Teaching DIT 2002

Graduate Diploma in Third Level Learning and Teaching DIT 2003

The last four qualifications were while lecturing here in the AIT. These qualifications I believe, enhanced my lecturing abilities.

I have co-authored and published a finance textbook which is a core text for many third level colleges and professional accountancy bodies. The current edition is

Over the past 20 years I have been a moderator, examiner and lecturer for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland and the Certified Public Accountants in areas of Finance and Business Mathematics.

I am a member of the Professional 1 Examination Stage Board for the Certified Public Accountants.

I regularly attend the Irish Association of Finance and Accounting (IAFA) conferences.

Because of the large proportion of international students on the courses I lecture on, I attended the Teaching in an Intercultural Environment training course on February 23rd 2012 by ICOS Training: Irish Council for International Students
