Holds a B.Comm degree in NUIG along with a Masters of Accounting from UCD. Worked with Coopers & Lybrand accounting firm before embarking on a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Education at UL. Taught for 3 years at secondary level before embarking on a lecturing position at AIT.

​Currently undertaking a PhD in Education (research) at NUIG which uses a design-based research approach to investigate the the use of blended learning to enhance the learning experience in accounting at tertiary education level.

20 years experience of teaching management accounting, financial accounting, corporate reporting, IT and computer applications in higher education. This role involved supervision of taught masters students in business and accounting along with supervision of students on placement.


Research interests include the use of technology in education. Currently undertaking a PhD research programme in NUIG, investigating the use of blended learning in accounting education in the tertiary sector using a design-based research approach.
