Michael O’Dowd

I have been a sound engineer, educator and professional working within the music industry since 1998. I attended “The Rock School” at Ballyfermot College of Further Education from 1998 – 2000 where I received an NCVEA accreditation in Music Performance & Management. I followed this by attending the Sound Training Center, Temple Bar from 2000 – 2002 where I received a City & Guilds part II accreditation in Studio Sound Engineering & Music Technology. In 2008 to the end of 2010, I was the Managing Director of the Midlands Franchise for Songschool Ltd., a Balbriggan based company that specializes in delivering Music & Multi-Media workshops to primary, post-primary & 3rd level students. In January of 2011, I joined the A.I.T as a part-time assistant lecturer on the Music and Instrument Technology course. I have also been running my own professional recording studio, called “Lakeland Studios”, in Glasson since 2007.

2005 – 2008: Songschool Ltd. – primary & post-primary Music & Multi-Media workshop facilitation.

2008 – 2010: Songschool Midlands – primary & post-primary Music & Multi-Media workshop facilitation.

2011 – Present: A.I.T – Assistant Lecturer on the Music and Instrument Technology course.

I have completed a level 6 Higher Certificate in Business in May of 2014 through the Department of Lifelong Learning and I am currently participating in the level 7 Bachelor of Business Studies, with a view to completing my level 8 B.B.S by May 2017.
