I

graduated from DCU in 1989 with a first class honours degree in Physics.

I then commenced my PhD in quantum physics under the supervision of Prof.
Daniel Heffernan in DCU (later Maynooth University)

Following my PhD I lectured first in the Dept. of Mathematical Physics at
Maynooth University, then in the Academic Maths Dept. at St. Patrick’s
College, Drumcondra from 1995-1998. I
was then appointed as a lecturer (Maths/Computing) in the Faculty of
Engineering at AIT in 1998.

I have supervised both MSc and PhD students in the areas of Machine
Learning, Computer Vision, and Artificial Life.

I have published extensively in quantum physics, AI, Machine Learning, and
Computer Vision.

I have engaged in consultancy work with industrial partners both nationally
and internationally.

I am currently a Research Associate of the School of Theoretical Physics,
DIAS.
