I hold a B.A. degree in Economics and Mathematics from University College Galway and was awarded the University Prize in Economics upon graduation in 1990. I studied Economics, Econometrics and Financial Economics at Birkbeck College, University of London and was awarded a M.Sc. Econ in 1992. I also have a level 9 qualification in managing the curriculum and the learning environment awarded by WIT in 2003.

After graduating from U.C.G. in 1990 I joined AIB as a Graduate Management Trainee based in the UK. I spent three years working in the areas of retail banking, human resources and training departments before joining AIB Capital Markets in 1993 based in Old Jewry in the City of London. There I worked in the UK Government bond, Sterling money and derivatives markets as a dealer and was involved in both the interest rate risk and liquidity management functions for AIB Group.

Since 2000 I have worked at A.I.T. in the Business School as a Lecturer in the areas of Economics, Financial Markets, Insurance, Banking and Quantitative Techniques.

I supervise research projects for AIT students studying for the Masters of Business and Masters of Accounting qualifications.

  • Biography
