Throughout my career I have had a strong interest in inclusive sport and activity for all. The club today has over 100 Senior citizens per day engaging in a range of activities. As a member of the Board of Directors I have maintained my contact and input into the club’s development and strategic planning.

I am currently acting in a voluntary capacity as Vice President of the Irish Massage Therapy Association (IMTA). In addition, I have been directly involved in the setup of a research committee to inform IMTA and their members as to approaches to research. To date I have completed two articles on research which have been published in the IMTA quarterly publication.

Tierney, J, (2013) Massage –Its Effectiveness and Recent Research, Irish Massage Therapy Association, In Touch Magazine; Winter2013, IMTA – This article looked at the research available in relation to the effectiveness of massage for a range of conditions.
