Lectuer in Marketing Management and Digital Marketing

Lecturer at AIT since 1996 in the areas of Tourism Marketing, Marketing Management and Digital Marketing in more recent years.

Qualifications include a MBS in Travel and Tourism, (Hons) 1994, UCD; BSc. Management Science (Hons) TCD, Higher Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management (Hons) 1991, Dublin Institute of Technology.

Continuous Professional Development:

Single Subject Certification in Human resource Management (1998) and Managing the Curriculum and Learning Environment (2000), of the MA in Management in Education, Waterford Institute of Technology.

CPD of Teaching in Higher Education, 2008, Dublin Institute of Technology, Level 9.5 ETCS.

Certificate in Digital Marketing, 2013, Digital Marketing Executive Programme, Marketing Institute of Ireland.

Prior to commencing at AIT employers included Jurys Hotel Group, Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World, Florida.

Learning to Learn

Interests include the development and assessment of group project work. Along with colleagues annual research conducted on the design and effectiveness of the cross modular capstone assessment offered to final year students of the BB (Hons) in Tourism and Hospitality Management and the BB (Hons) in Management of Tourism and Sport. In 2012, was part of a lecturing team nominated by AIT for the National Awards for Excellence in Teaching.

Collaborative project with RTE Sport (2013) in designing and developing workshops on the topic “Working with the Media”.

Conferences attended include The Enter Conference, DIT, 2014, along with conferences associated with The Marketing Institute of Ireland: DMX Dublin and The National Marketing Conference.

Attendee at discipline related industry events such Failte Ireland Segmentation Workshop, May 2014 and Failte Ireland Spa Sector events, 2013 & 2012.

Regular attendee of AIT Teaching and Learning Unit seminars and workshops.

Professional member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland since 2007.
