Cian Bregazzi-Nevin

Lecturer in Mechanical & Renewable Energy Engineering

  • cbregazzi@ait.ie
  • Room: Y303
  • Building: Engineering Building
  • Faculty: Faculty of Engineering and Informatics

My introduction to technical work and hands on experience began while working with a fire suppression company, Action Fire during my undergraduate years in college. I continued this work right though to qualification at honors degree level. I then applied and secured a research post in ITT Dublin examining a phenomenon known as corona ionization around high voltage power transmission lines. Some of my time was spent at the University of Bristol working alongside Prof. D. Henshaw and his time of physicists. I carried out field studies and then generated CFD models to correlate the collected data. During my research I travelled to China and delivered modules to engineering students in the University of Nanjing as part of the ITT Chinese program. Following the completion of my research I immigrated to Australia and began working with a German parking company, Klaus Multiparking. The work involved installation of parking systems dependent on PLC controlled hydraulics and pneumatics. An opportunity then presented itself and I accepted a job with Australian Calibrating Services. After I short period I transitioned to National Quality & Technical Officer. My main brief was the maintenance and upkeep of the company reference equipment and corporate quality system. I recently returned to Ireland to live here permanently and am currently lecturing at AIT

CFD & Experimental Analysis of Corona Ion Transport Theorem, MastersResearch Thesis, ITT Dublin, 2011
