Supporting Technology Transfer

The overall Technology Transfer strategy for AIT is to generate a return on public investment in research, innovation and enterprise development by supporting the generation of high-potential start-ups and actively collaborating with existing companies, both SMEs and MNC’s, through market-informed applied research projects and knowledge transfer.

AIT’s TT activity sits within an ecosystem which includes licensing, spin-out creation and start-up support.

AIT is a partner in a technology transfer consortium with Waterford IT and IT Carlow and led by Maynooth University, funded by Enterprise Ireland under the Technology Transfer Strengthening Initiative. The Industry Programmes/Technology Transfer Office in AIT is the meeting point between our researchers and client companies.

AIT has considerable experience in working with companies on collaborative research and innovation projects, from schemes such as innovation vouchers and innovation partnerships through to industry co-funded postgraduate research projects.
