Commercialisation & Technology Transfer

Collaborating with Industry

AIT’s strategy is to be a partner of choice for enterprise - helping companies of all sizes to solve their technical and business problems. Our industry collaborations range from short-term product design, prototyping, testing and problem-solving engagements to longer term strategic research projects to help companies address more complex technology problems in order to exploit international market opportunities. We work with companies on schemes such as Innovation Vouchers and Innovation Partnerships through to industry co-funded Postgraduate Research Projects.

Supporting Technology Transfer

AIT’s Technology Transfer strategy is to generate a return on public investment in research, innovation and enterprise development by supporting the generation of high-potential start-ups and actively collaborating with existing companies, both SMEs and MNCs, through market-informed applied research projects and knowledge transfer. AIT’s Technology Transfer activity sits within an ecosystem which includes licensing, spin-out creation and start-up support.

AIT is a partner in a Technology Transfer consortium with Waterford IT and IT Carlow and led by Maynooth University, funded by Enterprise Ireland under the Technology Transfer Strengthening Initiative.
