All Other Years

Online Registration will open from Monday 12th July 2021

Before you begin your academic year you will need to be fully registered with the Institute. Registration is required to gain access to a wide range of services and facilities available to our students.

Please Note: 

  • When you register online, it will take approximately 24hrs to re-activate your IT facilities.
  • For those students who are on Placement or sitting Autumn exams, you will not be eligible to register until Autumn results are issued and finalised by the relevant Faculty

The Institute is a Data Controller and will comply with its obligations under existing or future Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation with regard to the dissemination of personal information to any third party.
Athlone Institute of Technology, taking into account the changing needs of learners, society and industry, must at times revise programmes, courses or modules.  The Institute, being mindful of the above, and in order to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Institute reserves the right to change any programme of study, course or module.
Only students in good financial standing will continue to have entitlement to Library, IT and assessment privileges.

Check AIT Email (Step 1)

Your AIT email can be accessed from anywhere by going to Student Email Account 

The Webmail login page will appear (see image below)

Please note that your Student Email is the primary form of communication used between the Institute and student.  All relevant information with regard to classes, events, fees, exams etc will be issued to your student email account.  It is the responsibility of each student to check your email regularly and to make yourself aware of communication issuing to you. 

Failure to read email is not sufficient defence for missed deadlines etc.

Student Fee, Grant & Payment Information

There are a number of programmes which also attract a course specific fee.  Please see Undergraduate Student Information Sheet Undergraduate Student Fee Information Academic Year 2021-2022 for details.  Course specific fees are not covered by any grant and must be paid in full by the student.

Tuition fees may apply to some students (e.g. those repeating a year or those who have already spent time in third level education).  Contact the fees office for details.

Fee payment is available to all students under under Quicklinks Pay Registration Fees Online.  This is the preferred fee payment option and you are encouraged to avail of this fee payment method.

 Full Payment €3,000 before 31st October 2021

Option 2


 First Instalment €1,500 before 31st October 2021     

 Second Instalment €1,500 before 15th January 2022

Late Fee Payment Penalties

  • Examination Results withheld
  • Progression to next stage of programme withheld
  • Graduation withheld

Online Registration (Step 3)

Students who have successfully completed examinations can register online from Monday 12th July 2021.

All eligible students should receive an email to their Student Email which will contain your UserID and PIN (same as the one used to access your exam results).
