Recognition of Prior Learning

    Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?

RPL is a process whereby prospective students can gain admission to a university course or gain credits/exemptions for some parts of a course where there is evidence of learning (formal, non-formal or informal) that has already taken place outside of admittance to higher education, such as professional experience.

A fundamental principle of RPL is that a learner should not be asked to relearn something they already know.
