Registering with the Disability & Learning Support Service

  1. Evidence of disability: Check that you have the appropriate documentation for proof of your disability (an Educational Psychological Report if you have a Specific Learning Difficulty or a letter from your Doctor/Consultant if you have any other type of disability).
  2. Make contact with the Disability Officer: You should make an appointment to meet with the Disability Officer, Bernie Langtry (contact details below) and bring any relevant documentation. At this stage you will be asked to fill in a registration form.
  3. Attend your Needs Assessment appointment: A Needs Assessment will determine the type of supports you may need in college. It will involve an informal discussion about the types of supports you previously obtained and what specific supports may be required throughout your time in AIT.
