Our Graduates

Dwain Tarmey

Dwain completed both his Bachelors’ Degree and Masters in Polymer Engineering in Athlone IT and graduated in 2008. Dwain held posts in Creagh Medical and Medtronic before moving to VistaMed in Carrick on Shannon where he is currently Technical Business Unit Manager having previously held the posts of NPI Project Manager and Project Lead Engineer, also at VistaMed.

During his time at VistaMed Dwaine won GradIreland’s Graduate employee of the year for 2011.

Calvin Doyle

Calvin graduated from Athlone IT in 2014 with a First Class Honours in Graphic Design. After a couple of years working on small projects and trying to find the perfect job, Calvin decided to set up his own company here in Athlone.

CalvinDoyle.eu are a creative studio who specialise in branding, creative direction, film animation, digital design & printed material.

They work with big international brands small start-ups & local community groups.

Catherine Murphy

Catherine originally from Belmont, Co Offaly emigrated to the USA for 8 years with her husband Brian. On returning to Ireland she also returned to education on the BSc in Business Computing as a mature student.

In addition to her studies Catherine holds qualifications in her other great interest – all things equestrian. Catherine is a former Irish Amateur Speed Champion and represented her country at International level on many occasions. Not only is she an accomplished horse woman, Catherine holds the British Horse Society teaching certification in addition to the Irish Certification of Equine Studies.

Catherine currently works as a Software Engineer at Ericsson.

Patricia Jurkowska

Patricia came to Athlone IT as a mature student on the Higher Certificate in Office Management, she progressed on to the Bachelors of Business (Hons) degree and graduated with her Master of Arts in Accounting in 2014.

Patricia secured a 3- year traineeship with Deloitte & Touche where she studied for her Chartered Accountancy qualifications with the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Patricia is now a Senior Consultant with Deloitte.
