Why take this course?

This module will develop students’ existing knowledge of the four language skills in Spanish, and of the cultures of the countries in which it is spoken. Students will also gain the practical language skills they need in order to survive when travelling around countries where Spanish is spoken.

This course is ideally suited for mature students who wish to learn how to speak, read and write basic Spanish.

What opportunities might it lead to?

This is a standalone qualification, however students are required to complete academic work and assessment to achieve the single subject certificate.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

Mature applicant or Grade O6 at ordinary level in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate examinations. Two of these subjects must be mathematics and a language (English or Irish). Or Any QQI level 5 qualification is acceptable.
