Why take this course?

This single-subject Special Purpose Award (SPA - 10 ECTS) aims to provide learners with a platform to explore the importance of leveraging data, applying data analytics in decision-making, and investigating the interrelated components necessary for the creation of a strategic analytic culture in hotel businesses. The programme is developed in response to the current and future industry needs to meet the demands of a vibrant, thriving and dynamic tourism and hospitality sector in the Midlands, nationally and internationally.

This programme provides participants with external accreditation via the opportunity to take the Certificate in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA) and the Certificate in Advanced Hospitality and Tourism Industry Analytics (CAHTA) at no additional cost. The CHIA and CAHTA are provided jointly by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (ICHRIE) and STR Global.
