Dr Guy Havet
Postdoctoral Researcher
Guy Havet graduated with a doctorate degree in polymer engineering from the university of Akron, Ohio, USA in 2000. He is experienced in scaling-up reactions involving the synthesis of polymeric materials and the processes associated with those materials. He is experienced in developing R&D and QC techniques for establishment of formulation-process-morphology-property relationships. His experience in polymer science and engineering is invaluable in synthesising, characterising, and processing innovative polyesters with the equipment available at the CNMR. His current research is in the synthesis of biodegradable polymers from renewable feed stock. The project is being funded by Enterprise Ireland and IRCSET.
Research interests
Synthesis of compostable polymers from renewable resources Formulation of technical coatings Development of gas diffusion electrodes for the fuel cell industry Formulation of highly filled polymers with nanoscale to macroscale fillers and the simulation of their viscoelastic properties. Formulation-process-morphology-property relationships.
