A group of Saudi Arabian students who completed intensive training courses at Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) have been presented with parchments by the institute president.

Ten of the students undertook a course in computer technology support, while a further eight students completed a course in advanced heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC). The entire group of eighteen completed a course in English and introduction to learning and teaching.

Institute president, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, said that: “AIT is proving to be a significant provider of training and education programmes in the global market. The quality of our facilities and the learning experience is second to none and the international mix of our student body is testament to that.”

The director of international relations, Mary Simpson, added that “AIT has established a strategically important relationship with the Saudi government training agency TVTC, which has delivered students to AIT for a number of years now. The role of our partners in Enterprise Ireland has also been central to this,” she stated.
