Application Procedures for Non-EU Students 2010-11
Students applying for entry to undergraduate or postgraduate programmes should supply the following information directly to the International Office, Athlone Institute of Technology on or before 1 June 2010 for programmes commencing in September 2010:
- Completed AIT application form;
- Detailed curriculum vitae;
- Certified transcripts of examination results and English language translations of qualifications not issued in English
- Evidence of ability to follow classes in the English language (which must satisfy Institute entry requirements e.g IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 213 (C.B.T);
- Letter of recommendation from appropriate Head of Department of own institution;
- Two personal character references;
- Proof of ability to sustain oneself financially for the academic year;
- Any other relevant information regarding qualifications or previous work experience.
Students from non-EU countries must apply for a valid study visa for the duration of the programme of study in advance of registration at AIT. Visa application guidelines can be found on Department of Justice website.
Tuition Fees for non-European Union students range from €6,150 to €9,150 and are payable for each year of study at the institute. Athlone Institute of Technology does not offer scholarships or grants for undergraduate programmes. Students are advised to contact the appropriate local agencies or embassies in their home country regarding this matter or Department of Foreign Affairs regarding Irish Aid programme.
