Induction Loop System

There are 2 portable loop systems installed in the library and at the information desk. These can be used by persons with suitable hearing aids and allows them to speak with the person at the desk and blocks out interfering background noise. However many persons who are deaf and hard of hearing cannot benefit from using loop systems, therefore the information desk has a Typed Communication System is in place. This is simply an extra keyboard placed at the front of the desk so the student can type their query and it can be seen on screen. The answer e.g. directions, appointments can be typed so the student can see the answer on screen with ease.
