The aim of this Level 6 Special Purpose Award (10 ECTS) is to provide the participant with an opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to become trainers in rural entrepreneurship.

On successful completion of this module the student will be able to:

  • Identify training needs
  • Design appropriate training programs to rural entrepreneurship training needs of an environment
  • Deliver training sessions employing various learning and teaching strategies appropriate to the course.
  • Evaluate learning through formative and summative feedback

The impetus for this module has resulted from work undertaken under the auspices of Rural Tourism International Training Network where the need for a more focused approach to the delivery of training in rural enterprise development across the EU has been established.

Minimum Entry Requirements

Applicants to this training programme should have experience of operating a successful rural enterprise for a minimum of five years or have attained a degree level qualification in the field of rural development or education. Typically, the target participants are adult learners although not exclusively.
