Careers Office

The Careers and Appointments Service within Athlone Institute of Technology combines careers advisory work with students and facilitates employers to come into direct contact with students for recruitment purposes.

All registered students at AIT are entitled to avail of the service. Most of the activities of the careers service are directed at final year and postgraduate students; although students of earlier years are encouraged to use the Careers Office and to attend careers talks.

The careers office can help you with information on the following:

• Further study opportunities at AIT and in other colleges, both within Ireland and overseas
• Career counselling to facilitate students in knowing and evaluating the possibilities available
• Compiling CVs and cover letters
• Interview techniques and ‘mock’ interviews
• Employer recruitment programme and careers fairs
• Job opportunities
• Employer presentations and interviews
• Employers’ information
• Postgraduate opportunities
• Scholarships
• Summer work

Location of the Careers Service

The Careers Service is situated in the Main Institute Ground Floor Building, just off the Student Canteen.

When We Are Open

The Careers Office is located on the Ground Floor in the College, Room D1125.

The Careers Service helps you with your CV, preparing for interviews, making choices of where to go from here or general careers advice, the Careers Service is here to help!

The range of services also includes:
