MBA Information Evening at AIT

Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) will hold an information evening about its Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme on Wednesday 23 June 2010 at 6.30pm.

The information session which will be held in the coffee dock on the main campus will feature a presentation about the content and structure of the course, followed by a question and answer session.

The MBA is a prestigious Master’s degree designed for middle managers, senior executives and consultants. The programme is delivered on a part-time basis over two years in Athlone and annually attracts students from indigenous SMEs, multinational corporations, as well as the public sector.

According to the MBA Course Director, Jason Palframan, “While there is a strong emphasis on academic content, much of the assessment relates to a variety of organisational contexts. Participants are required to engage with real-life problems, opportunities and dilemmas faced by organisations. This grounds people’s learning and is a hugely effective form of management education and formation.”

In order to gain entry to the MBA, applicants should normally have at least five years’ work experience, with three years in a management-related role, in addition to their academic qualifications. All qualified applicants are required to attend for interview.

The next programme is scheduled to commence on 3 September 2010. The fee for the academic year 2010-2011 is €7,850. The early cut-off date for application is 27 July 2010, with interviews taking place in the week commencing 2 August 2010.
