This degree programme will develop further your knowledge and skills in modern manufacturing processes. A central theme of the course is the use of computers as a means of improving the efficiency and integration of a wide range of manufacturing activities. Emphasis is placed on the use of computers as an aid to engineering design and analysis, and as a basis for system control and automation.
At the end of the course you will have developed an understanding of the activities involved in the manufacturing process and have acquired the competence and confidence to suggest and implement new procedures.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or an approved equivalent Level 6 qualification.
Modules
Mathematics and Computing, Manufacturing Systems and Quality Management, Principles of Engineering Design, Control Systems, Production Technology and Management, Industrial Automation, Project.
Progression
As a graduate of this programme you are eligible to apply to join either the one-year, add-on Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Integrated Manufacturing Systems (Level 8) or the one-year, add-on Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Software Engineering (Level 8) programmes at AIT.
Professional Recognition
As a graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering in Manufacturing Processes, you are eligible to apply to Engineers Ireland to use the Registered Professional Title of Associate Engineer.
