This Level 7 degree programme has been developed to provide you with a strong grounding in the fundamental theories, concepts, principles and practices essential for a fulfilling and rewarding career in the areas of financial services/general business. You will also develop personally and intellectually during this course, thus ensuring the necessary competence in your chosen field.
The skills of analysis and judgement are highly valued in the financial services sector. Consequently, considerable emphasis is placed on the solution of problems and issues in a coherent and logical manner during the programme. You will also learn how to contribute effectively as a team player in the workplace. Your understanding of the inter-relationships between the different business disciplines and functions within a modern financial services organisation will be enhanced.
The role of finance manager will be evaluated and this will involve learning about the types and cost of finance, investments, risk management techniques and working capital management. The strategic importance of information as a business resource for problem solving and decision making will be highlighted. You will also study emerging issues in financial services and general business, with a particular emphasis on ethical aspects.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Holders of a Higher Certificate in Financial Services or of an approved equivalent qualification are eligible to apply to join this degree programme.

Progression
When you graduate you may apply to join the Bachelor of Business (Level 8) programme at AIT. Alternatively, you may progress to the professional examinations of the Insurance Institute of Ireland, the Institute of Bankers, or one of the major professional accountancy bodies.
